The other major risk factor for bladder cancer is occupational exposure to certain dyesSuch as aniline dye used in the manufacture of inks, paints and stains for wood and leather. These substances are concentrated in the urine and act at the expense of the epithelial cells of the bladder.
As such, the bladder cancer can be regarded as a occupational disease.
What other Risk factors for cancer bladder?
The chronic irritation of the walls of the bladder that occur due to a parasitic infection called schistosomiasis or bladder stones are also known to predispose to bladder cancer. But this risk factor explains only a small portion of cases.
Some drugs, Pelvic irradiation, the intertitielle tubulointerstitial nephropathy (a disease endemic to the Balkans) and some genes may also explain the risk of bladder cancer.
Note finally that the average age at which people are diagnosed with bladder cancer is 65.
